Last week we met carbon. This week we follow it. 🌱

The carbon cycle is the most fundamental biological system on Earth. Carbon moves through the atmosphere, living organisms, the ocean, and the soil in a loop that has never stopped running since life began. Here’s why the carbon cycle changes everything:

🌿 Photosynthesis is carbon capture at its finest. Plants absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and convert it into organic carbon that feeds every living thing on Earth.

🦠 Bacteria are the carbon cycle’s most essential workers. They decompose organic matter, release carbon back into the soil and atmosphere, and keep the loop running. Without them the cycle stops.

🌍 The carbon cycle has a problem and its fossil fuels. Burning them releases carbon that has been locked underground for millions of years.

♻️ Conventional plastic makes it worse by removing carbon from fossil fuels and locking it into a material that never returns to the cycle. It breaks the loop permanently.

🌱 PHA closes this loop. Made by bacteria from renewable carbon sources, PHA stores carbon temporarily as a biopolymer and returns it to the cycle when eventually disposed of. Nothing removed permanently. Nothing left behind.
