On Aug. 26, 1975, Dolly Parton was in Minnesota. Before she performed a concert at the Minnesota State Fair grandstand in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, photographer Pete Hohn took this beautiful portrait. The country music legend was performing at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand for the second time, after debuting there on Aug. 27, 1969.
Also on the bill that night in 1975: Johnny Rodriguez, Bobby Bare, P*e Wee King, Redd Stewart and the Collins Sisters, and emcee Ralph Emery. Tickets were $3-$5, which would be about $18-$31 today.
Parton also performed at the Minnesota State Fair on Aug. 30, 1978, and Sept. 3, 1993. She died on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
