The goal in burn care is to achieve timely wound closure while optimizing functional and aesthetic outcomes and minimizing downstream burden. Delaying definitive closure can prolong open-wound burden by impacting clinical, patient, and operational outcomes.

Learn how RECELL® Spray-On Skin™ Cells can support wound treatment by changing the timing trajectory. Compared to conservative treatment, early RECELL use in a patient's course of deep-partial thickness burn treatment supports:

- Increased re-epithelialization (1)
- Less scarring (1)
- Reduced need for surgery (2)
- Fewer dressing changes (1,2)

Deep partial-thickness burns present a common clinical challenge in burn care. As clinicians evaluate whether these wounds will progress, delays in definitive treatment can prolong hospitalization, increase treatment burden, and contribute to scarring and functional concerns.

Join the American Burn Association (ABA) for a special webinar highlighting the role of RECELL® in the management of deep partial-thickness burns, drawing on clinical experience, case-based insights, and growing real-world evidence.

Dr. Jonathan Schoen and Dr. Victoria Miles will share practical perspectives from their experience treating burn patients with RECELL, including cases that demonstrate rapid healing, functional recovery, pigmentation, and aesthetic outcomes.

Real-world evidence: Reduced length of stay with RECELL® Spray-On Skin™ Cells

The American Burn Association’s registry, Burn Care Quality Platform, contains greater than 8,500 U.S. patients treated with RECELL® Spray-On Skin™ Cells between 2019 and 2024. Using this registry, a retrospective matched-cohort analysis demonstrated that the use of RECELL Spray-On Skin Cells significantly reduces hospital length of stay compared to traditional autografting, equating to measurable savings per patient.

At the Michigan Academy of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting, Vania Arboleda Mocarro, DO, presented a case study demonstrating the use of Cohealyx® collagen dermal matrix followed by RECELL® Spray-On Skin™ Cells to facilitate reconstruction after oncologic excision.

In a 70-year-old patient with multiple comorbidities and a complex, tendon-exposed wound, Cohealyx established a well-vascularized wound bed within 7 days, enabling definitive closure with RECELL and a meshed split-thickness skin graft. The patient achieved 100% graft take at one week, complete re-epithelialization by two weeks, and excellent functional and aesthetic outcomes without complications.

This case highlights Cohealyx and RECELL as tools to support early wound closure and optimize outcomes in patients with complex full-thickness wounds.
