“We don’t have much longer.”

Nebraska climatologist Eric Hunt says the next few weeks are critical for drought conditions.

“We really don’t have much longer in a lot of the western portion of the state, at least on the cool season grasses, to get some moisture before things really turn to the point where they’re not recoverable this year.”

Hunt said that if meaningful moisture does not arrive by Memorial Day, many producers will face increasingly difficult management decisions for both row crop and livestock operations.

Do you care about the future of ranching in the Sandhills and want to get involved? Serving on the Sandhills Cattle Association Board of Directors is a chance to represent local producers and support the industry.

It’s also a great way to give back—our programs directly support youth in the area through our Steers for Students program and Sandhills Cattle Association Scholarships.

If you’re interested or want to learn more, call 402-376-2310 or email [email protected]

Already know you want to be part of it? Fill out the board membership application below!

Lot 93 Gave Back BIG. ❤️

We are beyond thankful for the incredible support behind our Lot 93 Gives Back campaign.

Because of generous donors and the sale of Lot 93, we were able to give $25,000 back to causes that matter deeply to us—supporting the Nebraska Cattlemen Disaster Relief Fund, along with the Hyannis and Arthur High School Rodeo Clubs.

Being able to help fellow ranchers in times of need and investing in the next generation of rodeo kids… this is what our industry and our communities are all about.

We truly couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.

Thank you for showing up, giving big, and making an impact. 🙏
