πFall is when fertilizer timing matters most for St. Louis lawns. A properly timed fall feeding does more for how green a lawn looks next April than anything applied in spring. Cool season grasses like tall fescue, the most common lawn in this area, do the bulk of their root growth in the six to eight weeks before the first hard frost. If it's been a while since your lawn's fall routine got a second look, a free inspection is a good place to start.
