And to the fathers in the fire service—thank you for answering the call, serving others, and still finding ways to be present for the people who matter most at home.

Behind every firefighter is a family making sacrifices too.

A huge thank you to Rise & Shine Sourdough!

We recently picked up a couple loaves of sourdough and were blown away by the kindness. Not only was the bread incredible, but Hailey surprised our crew with extra goodies for the firehouse as a thank-you for serving the community.

Supporting local small businesses is one of the things that makes our community special, and we’re grateful for neighbors who go out of their way to show appreciation.

Thank you, Hailey, for thinking of our first responders and support staff. We can confirm the treats didn’t last long! 🍞❤️🚒

🚤🌊 Did You Know?

Most people know Valley Park Fire Protection District for fire trucks and ambulances.

What many don't know is that our department also has trained boat operators and Swift Water Rescue Technicians. The Meramec River isn't just where we train—it's part of our backyard. Many of our personnel have spent years on these waters, giving them a unique understanding of the river they are trained to protect.

Water rescue incidents require specialized training, equipment, and teamwork. Our personnel regularly train in boat operations, rescue techniques, and river environments to help ensure they are ready when seconds matter.

Training today means being ready tomorrow.

We hope you never need us on the water.

But if you do, we'll be ready.

Over the past week 4 of our members completed trench rescue training. Congratulations to our newest Trench Rescue Technicians:

Firefighter Triplett
Firefighter Woensdregt

Firefighter’s Triplett and Woensdregt also complete swiftwater training at the Indiana River Rescue school in South Bend, Indiana. This is an intensive week long training to prepare you for responding to water rescue emergencies. Congratulations on becoming our newest Swiftwater Technicians.

We commend all of our Firefighters and Paramedic on their willingness to enhance our capabilities to serve the community. Our members are constantly taking classes and training to be better prepared for any emergencies that may occur.
