We are pleased to announce our newly formed Commercial Business Experts Team. Congratulations to Reeder, Farkas, and Husereau.

What is the Commercial Business Experts Team?

The CBE team has been formed to work alongside our executive leadership and IT teams to shape and evaluate our current and future systems, namely a Global ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software system that will help us manage all of our core business processes. There is also a Global Business Experts team in the UK, to ensure all requirements from across the CEF business are considered as part of the global Evaluation process.

What is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and how will we use it?

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) refers to a broad category of software that businesses use to manage their core operational processes such as sales, procurement, inventory management and manufacturing. ERP products offer an integrated suite of applications that seamlessly link any number of business processes. Our business system, IMS, is ERP software at heart, but contains all-in-one functionality that extends far beyond the scope of a traditional ERP product. Modern ERP software, instead, offers many integration options with best in class products as well as existing or legacy systems like we have.

The CBE team’s first project is to help complete an evaluation of what our business currently does, and why, to define our core processes and identify where we have unique capabilities that give us competitive advantages. The combined global Evaluation team will then use this insight and experience to analyze and investigate any potential products and vendors to guarantee the best possible fit to support and sustain City’s growth and future ambitions.

Nick Reeder, Director of the CBE team, says “we’re essentially aiming to deliver a system that will future proof us, and that system has to be flexible, simple, and configurable. I feel this approach could encompass change in the way we think about how we handle business without changing our ethos.”
