The Van Wert County Agricultural Society is seeking a professional,
organized, and community-minded individual to serve as Office
Administrator.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the
Agricultural Society office and serves as an important point of contact for the public, renters, vendors, sponsors, community organizations, and Fair, supporters.
The ideal candidate will be personable, outgoing, organized, and an excellent communicator who enjoys working with people and being involved in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day office operations and provide excellent customer service.
Promote the Van Wert County Fair and Fairgrounds through the website, social media, and other marketing efforts.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with businesses, sponsors, community organizations, renters, Directors and Fair supporters.
Identify opportunities to increase Fair sponsorships, facility rentals, and other sources of revenue, while identifying ways to control expenses and improve profitability.
Respond to inquiries regarding Fairgrounds rentals, events, programs, and activities.
Maintain accurate customer, rental, sponsor, vendor, and other
organizational records.
Lead, train and coordinate office staff; identify staffing needs and
address performance concerns.
Coordinate office activities with the Fairgrounds Manager and
Grounds staff to support events and customer service.
Assist with the planning, promotion and operation of the Van Wert County Fair and other Fairgrounds events.
Attend Agricultural Society Board meetings and report on office activities.
Maintain compliance with Agricultural Society bylaws and applicable Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio Revised Code requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned for the betterment of the Fair and
Fairgrounds.
Qualifications
Previous office administration, customer service, marketing, public
relations, or related experience preferred.
Business, communications, marketing, or related educational background preferred.
Strong computer, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Familiarity with social media and website management.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive community and business relationships.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of Fair or Fairgrounds operations is a plus.
Compensation & Schedule
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
PTO: Available after probationary period
Full-Time Position
Flexible schedule with occasional evenings, weekends, and extended
hours required, particularly during the Van Wert County Fair and other
major events.
Position includes both indoor and outdoor work.
