Thirty years later, we're still telling this story.

What was once a contaminated waterfront became a model for brownfield redevelopment through collaboration between the Port of Ridgefield, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington Department of Ecology, and MFA. The work helped pave the way for economic growth, environmental restoration, and a renewed vision for Ridgefield's waterfront.

Nearly 30 years later, we're still supporting the site and celebrating the impact of a project that helped shape MFA's future.

We’re hiring an Environmental Planner!🌿
This role is a great fit for someone with experience in environmental planning, permitting, or land use planning who enjoys solving complex challenges, working with diverse industries, and helping bring meaningful projects to life.

As an Environmental Planner, you will:
▪️Lead permitting strategies and guide projects through local, state, and federal approval processes
▪️Coordinate with regulatory agencies, prepare permit applications, and help clients navigate environmental requirements
▪️Collaborate with planners, scientists, engineers, GIS specialists, and communications professionals to deliver successful outcomes
▪️Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships while supporting infrastructure, redevelopment, restoration, and waterfront projects across the Pacific Northwest

James Maul, Tom Foster, and Neil Alongi opened our doors in Vancouver, Washington, in 1996 with a vision and one job already waiting. Everything since has been built by a growing team of employee-owners, alongside the clients, agencies, partners, and neighbors who trusted us.

Lauren brings nearly 18 years of environmental engineering experience spanning consulting, regulatory, and industry roles. Most recently, she led environmental remediation efforts for BNSF Railway, managing complex cleanup projects and collaborating with regulators, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
