Exciting news! Our team is heading to Surrey, B.C. to work on improving fish passage in Bon Accord Creek. Did you know that an old concrete channel is blocking salmon from returning to their spawning grounds upstream of the site? Previous eDNA testing showed that no salmon are passing through this channel. We will be working with a group of high school and college students to install Flexi Baffles, which will reduce laminar flows and increase water depth. This will enable salmon to navigate through this channel and reach the spawning habitat. Stay tuned for updates on our progress!
