It is easy to hand out advice to others. We all have opinions on what someone else's next move should be, whether it is their career, their relationship, or their business. But turn that same lens on ourselves and it gets blurry fast, because judging is comfortable and deciding is not. The clarity we so freely offer others is the clarity we owe ourselves first.

Where in your own life could you use less noise from others and more honesty with yourself?

You might be unqualified to work at Arux Group if...

You didn't show up to the interview you scheduled with us. Yes, that's an actual bar. No, we're not exaggerating. Only about 30% of people clear it.

You brought a firearm to the interview and brandished it, apparently auditioning for the John Wick reboot instead of the job.

You did the interview lying in bed. Horizontal. Presumably under the covers.

You wore a wrinkled white t-shirt, because apparently collared shirts are a myth to three quarters of our applicant pool.

You informed us you're "entitled" to a certain salary before you told us your name or where you're from.

You explained that showing up on time half the time is basically the same as being on time all the time. It's not. We checked. Several times. Ron Burgundy would agree with you though.

You got to the part of our application that says open the assessment in a new tab, complete it, download your results, and upload them here, and you uploaded your resume a second time instead. One paragraph of plain instructions. It has quietly become the most useful data point we collect.

Look, we laugh about this because we've genuinely seen it. Seriously, all of those examples are real life things applicants have done in interviews with us. But here's the less funny part. This is the security industry, where the people we hire are protecting other people's property, information, and safety for a living (sometimes with a firearm). Reliability, professionalism, and basic judgment aren't extra credit here. They're the job and the standard.

If you can show up on time, dressed like a professional, without a firearm or a mattress in frame, we want to talk to you.

Here's what's waiting on the other side of that very low bar. We're hiring a full-time Unarmed Security Specialist in Portland at $23 an hour. That's top of market for entry-level security work in this region, and it's deliberate. Prior security experience helps, but it isn't required. We can teach the job. We can't teach judgment, so we hire for character and train the rest, and we'd rather pay well once than hire twice.

If that sounds like you, or like someone you know, send them this.

Some things are given. This is earned.

Only twenty of these watches exist. Until now, they belonged to the three who built this company. Now two more have found their wrists.

They went to two people who never chase recognition. They show up, they do the work, and they raise the standard for everyone around them.

To wear an Arux Group watch is to be counted among the few who carry our values in everything they do. It is a mark of trust and a reminder of the mission. To the newest two, you earned every bit of it. Wear it with pride.

We made the list.

Arux Group is now on the Qualified Security Providers List for the Oregon Convention Center and the Portland Expo Center, approved for both event security and executive protection.

Earning a place on it means passing review on licensing, insurance, training, and experience.

Planning an event at either venue? We would welcome the conversation.

Saturday marked our first Recognition Night. We gathered as a team to honor the people who carry the mission forward, the ones whose steadiness, discipline, and heart show up in the work every single day. Watching this group come together outside the job, to celebrate one another, was a reminder of what makes Arux Group what it is. It was never just about the contracts or the posts we stand. It has always been about the people.

These are the people who show up when it matters, and who never ask for the spotlight. Saturday, we gave it to them anyway, because they have earned every bit of it. We could not be prouder of who they are, not just what they do. This team is our heart, and honoring them was the proudest moment of our year.

Most of us learned to compete by looking at our environment and comparing ourselves to what other people are doing. But the real edge comes from competing against who you were last year, not who is in the same space as you. Growth becomes contagious the moment it stops being about beating someone else and starts being about becoming someone better.

Who is raising their level because you raised yours first?

Executive protection is one of the most misunderstood services in the security industry, largely because the version most people picture comes from film rather than practice.

A professional program is a planning and risk management function before it is a physical one. It begins with a documented threat assessment, runs on advance work at every location, and depends on coordinated detail roles, secure transportation, and ongoing monitoring as the threat environment changes. The visible presence is the last layer, not the first.

Our latest Executive Advantage article breaks down what a professional program actually includes, and how to tell whether your current level of protection matches your actual exposure.

It is easy to keep operating off an old picture of your market, your team, or yourself long after that picture has stopped being true. The world moves and updates in real time, but our assumptions do not update unless we force them to. Clinging to how things used to be is one of the quietest ways to fall behind.

What assumption are you still operating on that has not been true for a while?

How do you fit an entire company into one shape?

We've asked ourselves that three times in three years.

The hard part isn't the design. It's looking at something you already paid for, already put on the uniforms and the business cards and every document you send, and admitting it isn't right.

The last time, before redrawing it, we put the question to our leadership. What do you see when you look at our logo?

Our CEO said, "a jiu jitsu company." Our CTO said the same thing.

They weren't wrong. That was the problem.

So we asked a different question. What should someone think when they see this?

Elevated. Proactive. The future of security.

Then came the part that finished it. The triangle had to be moving forward. Not sitting there. Not holding a position. Moving. Because that is what this company does.

That is the mark we carry now. Our people wear it to work.

Every version pointed up and forward. The direction was never in question. What changed was us, and every time it did, the mark was a step behind.

Nothing here is ever finished. We fail forward. We don't quit. We keep closing the distance on a standard we know we'll never fully reach.

This is the best version of us so far. We fully intend to outgrow it.

Arux Group. Always moving forward. Always with you.
