Western Lane District to remain at an IFPL 2 in the coastal zone (SL-2), and an IFPL 3 (WT-1) in the valley zone. We will also remain at HIGH fire danger.

Despite lower temperatures and a chance of precipitation later today and through the weekend, the Western Lane District will not be changing the Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL), which are regulations for Forest Operations only.

Being in drought conditions, the larger fuels will remain critically dry and will not be affected much by a few days of lower temps and light precip. In addition, temperatures are expected to bounce right back to the upper 80's to lower 90's early next week.

The reprieve is certainly welcomed, but will be short-lived.

Effective 12:01 am on Friday, August 14, 2026, Western Lane will move to an IFPL3 (Industrial Fire Precaution Level 3) in area WT-1. Area SL-2 will remain in IFPL2.

For the general public, Fire Danger remains at High (Yellow).

Effective Monday, August 10th, 2026 ODF Western Lane will go back into Industrial Fire Precaution Level 2 for WT-1. Everything else will remain the same as follows:

FIRE DANGER➟High/Yellow

The next three days are expected to bring critical fire weather conditions to ODF Western Lane District. Forecasts call for temperatures near 100°F, very low relative humidity, and dry northeast winds. These conditions can allow even a small spark to quickly become a fast-moving wildfire.

Effective 12:01am Tuesday, August 4, 2026 ODF Western Lane District will increase IFPLs (Industrial Fire Precaution Levels) as follows: WT-1➟Level 3, and SL-2➟Level 2. We will remain in High/Yellow Fire Danger.

Effective 12:01am Friday, July 17, 2026, ODF Western Lane District will increase to High/Yellow Fire Danger. We will update our cover photo on Friday morning. You can also hear our fire danger on our recording line 541-935-2222.

Effective 12:01am Monday, July 13, 2026, Western Lane District will move to an IFPL -2 in area WT-1. We will remain at IFPL-1 in area SL-2. The Western Lane office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance of the 4th of July holiday. We will still have fire crew staff working and ready to respond to any fire starts in the area. Thank you!
