Next up Day 2 to recognize - Mr. James Spratt -comes across as the kind of teammate everyone wants — reliable, tough, and steady when the pressure hits. Moving from defensive tackle to middle linebacker shows how much the coaches trust him, and big performances, like racking up over 20 tackles in the WPIAL championship, tell you he doesn't play small!

Off the field, he’s known for something rare in high school — he’s a licensed airplane pilot. That alone says a lot: disciplined, mature, curious, and willing to take on real responsibility. It gives him a well-rounded identity and shows he’s more than just an amazing athlete.

Spratt is a grounded, smart, dependable kid — someone teammates respect and people enjoy being around because he brings both intensity on the field and balance off it. Any given day Spratt is flying over my house in Venetia.

What stands out most about this Peters Township team isn’t just the championship — it’s the culture behind it.

Their coach’s have built an environment where players can be honest, vulnerable, and supported. That trust is the foundation of their resilience, chemistry, and ultimately, their results.

This team earning the WPIAL 5A Championship for the second time in three seasons is just proof of what happens when trust fuels ex*****on.
