Bypass shower enclosures sure have changed. Here is the "Phantom" enclosure. This has 2 sliding doors as shown but is available in a single rolling door as well. Why is it called the Phantom? It uses a triple laminated tempered starfire glass bar for the doors to roll on. Starfire glass is known as Low Iron glass making it clearer than standard glass. Paired with Starfire glass doors, this enclosure allowed this happy home owner the view of their Cambria walls in the exact color in which they came. All other bypass showers utilize a metal header to support the doors. There is no track on this shower as well, only a center guide. There are many handle options for these as well. Here we used a puck style handle. Hardware finish is satin brass. Unlike other barn door showers with limitations on width and height, the Phantom is almost limitless and has the largest sizing available. This one is a beauty, and as elegant as it gets.

Shower door hinges are not all the same! Some situations require a different approach with your hinges. Here the builder left no space for a standard shower door hinge. Standard hinges on a shower door use 4 screws for mounting the door to a wall. 2 inside and 2 outside. This means that the door cannot go out to the edge of your tile. This builder left no space for standard hinges so we knew we had to use offset hinges. Offset hinges allow us to mount the door to the furthest edge of your tile wall. They also have all the screws inside of the shower for a nice clean look externally. No exposed screw heads here!
Hinges also have weight and size limitations. Make sure whoever you talk to uses the correct hinge for your job. If your hinges are not the correct sizes, the door has a higher probability of slipping, sagging, and unfortunately breaking.

Wow, what an entrance for this home. Here we have antique mirror set into matte black painted wood trim by Baca BACA Customs. Check out Dave at Baca BACA Customs for all his great work. This antique mirror is called Nimbus. Many other styles of antique mirror are available. These mirrors were drilled for the brush gold lights to be surface mounted and the round mirror to be mounted on top of the antique mirror in center. The "Phantom" from 310 tempering is a triple glass laminated header designed for bypass shower enclosures. Here is a before and after installation. This unit is in Starfire or low iron tempered glass with glass towel bars. Trim is brushed nickel finish.

With its near invisible sight lines it is no wonder it is called the "Phantom".

This unit is now available in single sliding doors as well. Hardware colors available are chrome, brush nickel, matte black and satin brass.

We can also utilize this system to create double door units that are inline with each other.

Will a frameless shower leak? We have an answer!

"When installing custom shower doors, our professionals look for an inward slope on your curb when measuring for your shower enclosure. We also look for proper door placement to prevent leaking. All showers are sealed with mildew-resistant silicone on any opening except where the door meets another panel of glass.

Plastic seals can be added at this location, although most customers prefer not to add this feature as it will limit the inside and outside swing of the door. A sweep is placed on the bottom of the door to help gather water, but it may drip when it opens.

To prevent leakage, water shouldn't be in direct contact with open spaces around the door. We also do not recommend rinsing your shower off with buckets of water or handheld shower heads."
