Here's a free communication tip:
Often when we want to share links to documents or petitions or the like, many often write out a long URL (example: http:verylongandoffbeat.com/long-ass-web-page-name.htm)
Now, if you're gonna make a or are writing an article that will be published in a printed version, having that long ass URL written out is going to take up a lot of visual real estate. It's also intimidating to look at and makes the user/reader work harder to get to the information you want them to. That's if they even wanna go there now after reading that long various character filled web page name.
A good alternative is going to https://bitly.com/ and making a . It's a where you paste in the long ass URL and it spits out a shortened version. The one it spits out is usually a mix of letters and numbers. Even with the free version it gives you the option to even edit the initial shortened URL it spit out. So you can tailor it to something looking like bitly.com/sacred-run-map or whatever you like assuming no one has used that URL description yet.
Just be mindful that the short URLs are case sensitive.. meaning " bitly.com/sacred-run-map" and "bitly.com/Sacred-Run-Map will not be the same link. So when you write it on a flyer or printed article be sure to write out in the exact case you created it.
