丹波守嫡吉道・以清鉄鍛之
Tanba no Kami chaku Yoshimichi – Seitetsu o motte kore o kitaeru
“Forged by Yoshimichi, the legitimate heir of Tanba no Kami, from refined iron.”

We don’t know for sure what each smith meant with seitetsu, but it is likely that they were referring to refined iron/steel like oroshigane. I am not sure which Yoshimichi smith made this tsuba.

The third generation Nobukuni (信国) worked in the last decade of the 1300’s through about 1430 in the Oei era (応永). Following him in the Oei era (応永) there were two Nobukuni (信国) smiths of high repute. The first was Minamoto Saemon no Jo (or Genzaemon no Jo) Nobukuni (源左衛門尉信国) and the second was Minamoto Shikibu no Jo Nobukuni (源式部丞信国).
