2026 Jamboree Parade Winners!

What an incredible parade we had this year! We were thrilled to see such an amazing turnout and want to thank every single person who participated and helped make this year's Jamboree Parade such a memorable event.

We are excited to announce our winners:

🥇 1st Place: Vernonia Booster Club
🥈 2nd Place: Vernonia Reunion Float "Class of 1976"
🥉 3rd Place: Maverick's 4H Club

Congratulations to all three of our winners! A big thank you to all who participated!

We also want to share a little information regarding this year's prize money. While we had one of our best turnouts, the prize amounts are unfortunately lower than last year. This is because many parade participants did not check in, register, or pay the $10 entry fee.

We want everyone to know that the Jamboree does not charge this fee to make money or generate a profit. The entry fees are collected solely so that we can give back to the participants by awarding prize money to those who take part in the parade. Our goal has always been to recognize the time, effort, and creativity that everyone puts into making the parade so special.

We truly appreciate every person who joined us, and we hope that in future years everyone will remember to check in, register, and pay the entry fee so that we can continue to award participants accordingly and hopefully increase the prize amounts.

Thank you all for such an amazing parade and for helping keep this Jamboree tradition alive. We appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to seeing what you bring to next year's parade!

Honoring the Memory of Bill Hawkins

The 2026 Jamboree, held August 7–9, was a weekend filled with tradition, memories, and community. But this year, there was also a profound sense of loss as we gathered without someone who had become such an important part of Jamboree.

Bill Hawkins passed away on Friday, August 7, the first day of Jamboree, following an accident the week before.

Bill was a pillar of Jamboree. He brought with him something that cannot be replaced—the knowledge, history, stories, and memories that connected us to Jamborees past. He understood where we came from, remembered the people and moments that shaped this gathering, and helped keep that history alive for generations to come.

His absence was felt throughout the weekend.

Jamboree will not be quite the same without Bill, but the things he shared with us will continue. His knowledge, his stories, his love for Jamboree, and the history he helped preserve are now part of the legacy he leaves behind.

We are grateful for all that Bill gave to Jamboree and to the people who have made this community what it is.

He will be greatly missed, deeply remembered, and forever a part of Jamboree.

Rest in peace, Bill. ❤️

We want to give a very special shout-out to the incredibly talented chainsaw carvers who joined us for the Vernonia Friendship Jamboree!

These amazing artists generously donated 9 fantastic chainsaw carvings to be raffled off—and we can’t thank them enough! Each carving represents so much time, talent, creativity, and hard work, and we are truly grateful for their generosity and willingness to share their incredible craftsmanship with our community.

We were thrilled to raffle off all nine carvings and announce our lucky winners! 🎉 Congratulations to everyone who took home one of these one-of-a-kind pieces. 🪵🪚

🎣 What a Day at the Vernonia Friendship Jamboree Fishing Derby! 🎣

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated in this year’s Fishing Derby! With 50 participants, we had an incredible turnout and a fantastic day on the water. ☀️🐟

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make the derby such a success—from our participants and volunteers to everyone who donated the many awesome door prizes! 🎁

Congratulations to our Biggest Fish Winner! 🏆🐠 And congratulations to everyone who brought home a prize, made a catch, or simply enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing with family and friends.

With great weather, great people, lots of fishing, and plenty of smiles, it truly was a day to remember!

Thank you for being part of the Vernonia Friendship Jamboree tradition. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Congratulations to Sterling Taylor, the 13-17 year old fishing class winner of the Vernonia Friendship Jamboree fishing derby and caught the biggest fish!!! Nice fishing bud!
