✨ Employee Spotlight: Angela Learned, Care Coordinator ✨

Meet Angela Learned, one of our compassionate Care Coordinators here at Hummingbird! 💜

Angela joined the Hummingbird team just one month ago, bringing with her an incredible background in healthcare and a true passion for helping others. She is a Registered Nurse with over 18 years of experience, including 10 years as a rehabilitation nurse at HealthSouth/Encompass and 8 years in home care as a Quality Assurance (QA) nurse. She also recently earned her Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) credential, a certification specializing in Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) standards used in home health care.

Angela attended the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. 📚

What Angela loves most about her role is meeting with clients and their families, especially during VA supervisory visits, and building meaningful relationships both in the field and in the office. Her passion comes from helping families feel supported while caring for their loved ones.

Coworkers describe Angela as positive, joyful, and detailed — qualities that shine through in everything she does! ☀️

Outside of work, Angela enjoys going on walks, spending time with family, dining out, and watching meaningful movies based on true stories. One of her favorite movies is A Walk to Remember because of its message that people can always grow and change for the better. 🎬

Fun fact: Angela moved to Vero Beach in 1996 and will celebrate her 30th wedding anniversary next year! 🎉

One quote that inspires her daily is:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” – Proverbs 3:5-6

Angela says being part of Hummingbird means working alongside a team that truly cares about the well-being of clients and their families — and we’re so grateful to have her as part of ours! 💜

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

At Hummingbird Care Services, remembrance means more than words — it means service, compassion, and continuing to care for those who served our nation with courage and honor.

Through our partnership with the Veterans Association, we are proud to provide no-cost home care services to veterans within our community, ensuring they receive the dignity, support, and compassion they deserve.

Today, we remember the fallen.
We honor our veterans.
And we stand beside the families who carry their legacy forward.

Medication mistakes happen more often than people realize — and even one wrong dose can become dangerous fast.

Safe medication habits matter:
• Double-check medication labels
• Stay on schedule
• Use pharmacy bubble packs when possible
• Keep medications organized
• Call Poison Control or 911 immediately if the wrong medication or dose is taken

Caregivers can also help seniors stay safer by reminding them about schedules and watching for possible medication mistakes.

Simple habits can prevent serious emergencies.
