Matters:

Ready or not, someday it will all come to an end.

There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.

All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.

It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.

Your grudges, resentments, frustrations, and jealousies will finally disappear.

So, too, your hopes, ambitions, plans, and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.

It won't matter where you came from, or on what side of the tracks you lived, at the em

It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.

Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.

So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought, but what you built; not what you got, but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success, but your significance.

What will matter is not what you learned, but what you taught.

What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enrich or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence, but your character.

What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting I gone.

What will matter is not your memories, but the memories that live in those who loved

What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom, and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstan

I am cleaning out both of my closets and I’m looking for a woman who could use some additions to her work and casual wardrobe. Mostly size medium tops and size 10 pants. I also have lots of shoes size 9 1/2 all different styles. All of the clothes and shoes are in very good condition. Lots of dresses tops and pants. I have a couple formal gowns that would be great for a gala or fundraiser. I would really like to give them to somebody in need and these are items that could be worn by any age group. Please feel free to private message me if you’re interested.

Community advocates will gather next week to dive into the pressing issue of affordable housing, with a focus on treating it as a fundamental human right, during the second installment of the Women of Hope series.

The event, set for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at HOPE for Families Center, aims to spotlight the local housing shortage and barriers facing residents in Indian River County.

Meredith Egan, Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of Indian River County, will lead the discussion. She will cover state and federal initiatives while helping participants craft an advocacy brief for legislators and pinpoint three key local policies to push forward.

Organizers expect an interactive session, encouraging attendees to share questions, comments and ideas. Breakfast refreshments will be provided to kick things off.

The Women of Hope series, which runs for six meetings, seeks to empower women through education and action on critical social issues. This gathering builds on the group’s ongoing efforts to address community needs.

The Hope for Families Center is located at 715 4th Place in Vero Beach. For more details, contact the center directly at (772) 567-5537.
