“So here's the deal. I don't judge. I don't tell people how to parent because... glass houses and all that. But what I do want to do is put information out there, as unpopular as it might be, so parents can make INFORMED choices.

This is one of the hardest things for me to watch. I see people posting about all the behavioral issues they are dealing with, and the next post is a picture of their sweet child drinking a Gatorade with a sucker. And I just feel sad that I didn't share what I know with that person.

So here's the truth. Artificial color is one of the most hidden problems in our diet. If it's possible to pick something that causes more behavioral problems in kids, this is it.

It's not worth it.

Yes it takes more work to read labels, find alternatives, make changes, but you can still give treats and cleaner options on special occasions. We teach the kids that THEY can say no thank you when offered a dumdum. THEY can make the decision themselves and know what is good for their bodies and what isn’t. It’s so important kids feel empowered with their body and health from a young age- it instills healthy habits early on that they will carry with them into adulthood when mommy isn’t there to say, “no you shouldn’t eat that.”

😮😮😮 TOP 4 PETROLEUM BASED SNACKS THAT CAN CAUSE SEVERE ADHD, NERVOUS SYSTEM, BLOOD, AND KIDNEY DAMAGE 😮😮😮

Are you unknowingly giving your child petroleum-based snacks? 🤔

Most companies market unhealthy products that contain cancer causing artificial ingredients to petroleum directly to children. 😤 These ingredients can cause all kinds of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and hyperactivity/ADHD.

Lets take a closer look at petroleum. 👀 Petroleum is the same ingredient that is used for oil and gas. 💁🏼‍♀️ The FDA has admitted that ingestion is typically under the “concern threshold.” Why is any amount of petroleum good??

If you see Yellow 5 and Red 40 as part of the ingredients, chances are these are made from petroleum. They’ve been found to cause hyperactivity in children, cancer, allergic reactions, headaches, hypersensitivity, obesity, ADD/ADHD, chromosomal damage, hives, asthma, diabetes, eczema, and insomnia.

👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 TOP 4 POPULAR CHILDREN’S SNACKS MADE WITH CANCER CAUSING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS 🚨

1. POP TARTS

The fruity Pop-Tarts are marketed as being made with “real fruit,” but its ingredients list shows that there’s only 10% of fruit inside each pop tart. The rest comes from toxic ingredients like GMOs, artificial colors, and sugar. The other harmful ingredient is TBHQ which is made from petroleum causing cellular dysfunction.

2. FRUIT SNACKS

By looking at the packaging of fruit snacks, one might think these are healthy. In fact, they even state “Fat Free” and “Made with real fruit.” However, it couldn’t be further from the truth. They are loaded with GMO sugar and contain Red 3 artificial dye. Red 3 is a petroleum product, commonly used food coloring, also known as E127 or Erythrosine.

3. M&M’S

Did you know that these colorful little candies have been scientifically linked to hyperactivity and diabetes in children? These bright colors are made from dangerous and very toxic artificial dyes. Blue #2, Blue #1, Yellow #5, Red #40 are all petroleum based products that showed to cause brain tumors in lab rats and other abnormal cell development.

4. CHEETOS

Cheetos are loaded with ingredients such as methyl benzoate and ethyl methylphenylglicidate. Additionally, the artificial dye Yellow 6 is responsible for that bright yellow color. Yellow 6 comes from petroleum.”

Be empowered with choices and information!”

The hardest work as parents is protecting our kiddos. For YEARS I didn’t realize how much my allowing these snacks were causing issues in one of my kiddos. Crazy thing, as we shifted away, the behavioral issues went away! She could FOCUS again! Now we have 2 super sensitive kiddos.

One as a teen is empowered to make the choice on her own of how she wants to FEEL and chooses to avoid the chemicals!

Teaching kiddos to recognize how they FEEL when eating certain things that can be problematic goes a long ways.

We must fix the food system. Create a healthy nation so we don’t have those costs in the first place.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In 2013 I spoke at the World Economic Forum and at a big gathering of the world’s health care leaders from government, pharma, insurers and health care systems, I asked a simple question. It was after a distinguished panel focused on fixing health care by better health information technology, improved care coordination, reduction of medical errors, improved efficiencies and improved payments models, all necessary but not sufficient. Their plan was akin to moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic.⁣⁣

Here was the question: Wouldn’t it make more sense to address the root causes of chronic disease that are driving the costs, rather than trying to clean up after the fact? The room of 300 people went silent. It was as if I had just revealed the meaning of life. Afterward, the panel moderator, the Dean of Columbia University’s School of Public Health, told me how profound this insight was and how all the health leaders were talking about it after. Really? I was shocked. This is so obvious, yet no one had thought of it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The “cheap” food that causes disease is not so cheap after all. The hope and promise of the Green Revolution—to use agricultural technology to create abundant cheap food to feed the world turned out to have horrible unintended consequences. In fact, cheap food turns out to be very, very expensive.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Yes, chronic disease is costly. And kills millions. But that is only a small part of the total cost driven by our food system. Chronic disease is just one spoke in the wheel among many consequences of our current food system. Add to these costs the real cost of our food system on the environment, economy, climate, social justice issues, poverty, education, national security and more and this number grows dramatically.⁣⁣

I talk about these costs and the solutions we have at hand in my book, Food Fix. FoodFixBook.com
