A big week here at the vineyard.

As we’re still in the relative infancy of this project, seeing vines go into the ground year after year is incredibly exciting.

Growing a vineyard takes a whole lot of hands, boots, and at least couple tractors. We’ll keep plugging away over here to bring you something special from Shenandoah Valley.

Vineyards and wineries are farms before they’re anything else. It’s frost season across Virginia and we got a cold one last night, especially here in Shenandoah Valley. Temps on the farm at the bottom of the vineyard dropped to 24 degrees, with warmer temps at the top going down to 32 degrees.

We had a helicopter circle from 2 AM til beyond daybreak in an attempt to push warmer air down to the vines. It should help quite a bit but we still suspect a good chunk of vineyard lost for the year. Vineyards spent the night spinning wind machines, burning candles, burning old prunings, and everything in between to try and salvage as much as possible for the 2026 vintage.

In short, it’d be a great day to buy your favorite vineyard manager or winemaker a cup of coffee.

We are blooming! Bud break is upon us, so time for some tender care in the vineyard and crossing our fingers the weather is with us.

We’re through the freeze here in the Valley and are busy adding to the vineyard. Cheers, to balmy nights, a good run of sunshine, and what’s to come.

We’re incredibly excited to be included amongst the gold medalists in this year’s VA Governor’s Cup!

Catch us at the gala next Thursday to try a couple of wines from our first vintage. Congrats to all of the medalists, especially our fellow Shenandoah Valley wines.

Cabernet Franc 2023 & Pinot Noir / Pinot Meunier 2024

We are incredibly excited to get these wines out! The Cab Franc ‘23 is the first wine we’ve put in barrel here at Noer, and has been a joy to watch evolve. It’s deep, rich, and a wonderful compliment to its fruit-forward counterpart.

Our Chardonnay Reserve 2024 is also now officially for sale, our first barrel-aged white wine.

Orders can be placed on our website for pick-up and delivery. If you’d like to taste all three we’ll be pouring them at Wolf Gap Vineyards this Sunday!
