Darby was a happening town 37 years ago today as The Great Northwest Log Haul rolled in to town! Sadly 10 years later Darby Lumber closed their doors. Montana has lost 36 mills since 1990 and has only 6 major mills left.🙁

Fun fact!

For those of us who enjoyed the World Series last night, let's all appreciate the work of art that is a wooden baseball bat. It takes nearly 40,000 trees to produce one season's worth of baseball bats. So it's no surprise that the U.S. Forest Service teamed up with MLB a few years ago in order to ensure that we preserve as many bats as possible.
