Customers often ask whether an old chair is worth reupholstering. I can honestly say, “If it’s built like this one, you’re not just getting a chair that looks new—you’re getting a chair that’s built to last and is incredibly comfortable.” My customer told me she rocked both her daughters in this old rocker when they were babies. Her mother had bought it at a garage sale for $5.00! I completely restored it. The rocker base and chair frame are solid wood. The seat coiled spring frame had seen better days. I removed it and made a loose seat cushion with 4 1/2 inch medium foam wrapped in cushion wrap. Now it is so comfortable to sit in! The rocker is covered in fabric from Charlotte Fabrics D2217 Dusty Rose. I have the rocker in three different settings to show with a little imagination and the right fabric you can mix it up with a modern setting. I refer to it as the old meets new!
