Backyard Prairie UPDATE!
This is the regrowth at 30 days post-burn. Native grasses are pushing up now and the ground is nearly hidden again, under the foliage. Forbs are just starting to show enough growth that they are identifiable if you know what you’re looking at.
Follow along to learn about prairie, prairie plants and management, and all of the benefits of having prairie habitat where you live and play. I’ll be posting updates all year to teach you how to identify many species and what they are good for.
