This significant occasion is marked every year on April 1, commemorating the official establishment of the rank on April 1, 1893, as per Navy General Order 409. Often referred to as the "backbone of the Navy," this day acknowledges over 130 years of leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise contributed by Chiefs to sailors. Join us in celebrating these courageous individuals who embody the spirit of the Navy and include our spouses, colleagues, family, and friends.
