Join us on Thurs, June 25th from 2-3pm EST for a free webinar unpacking Giving USA 2026!

Philanthropy continues to shape the pace of change within the nonprofit sector—but the dynamics behind that change are shifting. While overall giving remains strong, fewer donors are participating, and expectations for engagement and trust continue to rise.

In this timely session, we’ll explore the latest national fundraising and economic trends, unpacking key findings from Giving USA 2026. Led by Chairman and CEO Keith Curtis and President and COO Wendy McGrady, we will move beyond the data, sharing perspectives on how these shifts are influencing donor behavior—and what they mean for fundraising in practice.

This engaging presentation will provide you with:
-Key findings from the just-released data and trends on nationwide charitable giving from Giving USA 2026
-Analysis of giving by primary donor sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations and bequests
-Comparison of giving across major nonprofit sectors
-Practical recommendations for applying these insights to your fundraising strategy

Grounded in experience working with nonprofits across a range of sectors and communities, this webinar will focus on how organizations can interpret these trends and apply them with greater focus and intentionality.

Wendy always loves attending the Virginia's Community Colleges Chancellor‘s award for philanthropy luncheon, which was held yesterday in Richmond. She said it’s one of her favorite events of the year because it’s such a lovely celebration of philanthropic investment in Virginia’s Community Colleges and because she gets to see so many current and past clients, friends, and colleagues in one room.

Pictured are leaders and honorees of Reynolds Community College, Eastern Shore Community College, Piedmont Virginia Community College, Blue Ridge Community College, and Tidewater Community College. Not pictured are many other friends like Paul D. Camp Community College who honored another client of ours, Obici Healthcare Foundation for their transformational investments in the college.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Virginia Association of Museums and Virginia Humanities on "Funding Your Mission: Practical Strategies and Perspectives." The workshop brought together museum leaders, funders and development professionals from across the Commonwealth for a practical, focused conversation on strengthening philanthropy in a changing landscape.

We appreciate VAM’s leadership in creating space for candid dialogue, shared perspective and real-world learning—all in service of advancing the important work of museums and cultural and humanities organizations.

A highlight of the workshop was the panel conversation moderated by Keith Curtis that explored fundraising from multiple perspectives—development leadership, executive leadership, board members and funders. We’re grateful to the panelists for sharing their perspectives with candor and thoughtfulness, and to the Virginia Association of Museums for creating a setting where those insights could be openly explored. Conversations like these are an important reminder that while the landscape continues to evolve, the core work remains deeply human and relationship-driven.

Museums and cultural organizations are navigating a more complex fundraising landscape—shifting donor expectations, increased competition for funding and growing expectations for community impact.

We’re proud to partner with the Virginia Association of Museums and Virginia Humanities for an upcoming workshop designed to meet that moment.

On April 15, we’ll join museum leaders, funders and development professionals at James Monroe's Highland for a practical, working session focused on:

• Strengthening donor cultivation and stewardship
• Understanding how funders assess readiness, impact and project design
• Learning from real-world experiences across Virginia’s cultural community

This is not a theoretical conversation. It’s a focused opportunity to step back, share perspective and leave with clear, actionable approaches you can apply right away.

If you’re leading or supporting fundraising efforts for a museum or cultural institution, we hope you’ll join us.
