We are proud to share that Cuboid was engaged as the architects for the successful restoration of the heritage building associated with the visionary G.D. Naidu in Coimbatore.
Featured in the Madhavan-starrer film GDN as G.D. Naidu’s home and office, the building was, in fact, his original office in Coimbatore.
Cuboid’s Heritage Regeneration Team, under the leadership of Ar. Kamal, carefully revived its original spaces, timber joinery, and other surviving elements, along with a skilled ex*****on team led by Mr. Arunachalam from Pondicherry.
Some before-and-after images of the project are attached, showcasing the transformation and revival of this century-old building.
The conservation was completed around a year ago, making the film’s use of the building a particularly wonderful full-circle moment: those of us who helped preserve the architectural legacy of the visionary G.D. Naidu also had the opportunity to see that very legacy recreated on screen last evening.
