What started as a roof replacement became an opportunity to rethink the entire exterior.
For this 1952 Bay Colony ranch, we looked beyond the roof itself and considered how the roofline, siding, eaves, and trim could work together to give the home a completely new sense of character.
A new metal roof established the direction. Western red cedar siding brought warmth and natural texture. Extended eaves and wider trim added definition and helped transform the traditional ranch into a warm coastal cottage that feels right at home in Virginia Beach.
In our latest blog post, we’re sharing more about the design decisions behind the transformation, why Western red cedar worked so well for this home, and what to consider when remodeling near the coast.
