CAVU Coach Julie House recently led a Superintendent Training session focused on strengthening the leadership skills needed to drive team performance, accountability, and operational excellence.

Julie brings a unique perspective to leadership development as a retired U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer with extensive international experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, NATO, the United Nations, and other global organizations. Her background in military leadership, cross-cultural communication, and training allows her to connect with leaders operating in complex, high-stakes environments.

Strong safety leadership starts with the people doing the work.

CAVU coach Delbert Terrell recently spent time with a Well Intervention Crew discussing the critical role of safety leadership in high-risk operations. With more than 36 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy, Delbert brings extensive experience in leadership development, strategic communication, and building high-performing teams. His career has included senior advisory roles influencing training and personnel initiatives impacting more than 300,000 service members.

Through coaching sessions like these, CAVU works directly with frontline teams to strengthen communication, build trust, reinforce accountability, and recognize how everyday leadership behaviors influence safety and operational performance.

Our focus is on equipping the people closest to the work with the tools, mindset, and leadership skills to make better decisions, support one another, and perform safely and effectively. Because a strong safety culture is built by the people who put it into practice every day.

David Hazell joined industry leaders at the IADC HSE & Sustainability Europe 2026 Conference & Exhibition in Amsterdam for a conversation focused on the realities of human performance in high-risk operations.

Across two expert panels, David shared CAVU’s perspective on what happens when procedures meet real-world conditions, why alignment between leadership and frontline teams matters, and how stronger communication, situational awareness, and decision-making can help organizations improve operational performance.

A great week in Rio de Janeiro at ROG.e 2026.

CAVU was proud to be represented at the RelyOn booth throughout the event and to have Claudio Lima take the stage for his technical presentation, “People Management and Leadership in High-Risk Operations: From Individual Character to Team Resource Management.”

Claudio’s session explored the critical role that leadership, individual character, communication, and Team Resource Management play in strengthening performance in high-risk operations.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, attended the session, and joined the conversations throughout the week. It was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues across the energy industry and continue the discussion around leadership, human performance, and operational excellence.
