Building AI apps is one of the hardest things I've learned in a long time.

I've laughed.

I've gotten frustrated.

I've celebrated tiny wins.

I've wondered what on earth I was thinking.

More than once, Hayden has looked over and asked,
"If this makes you so frustrated...why do you keep doing it?"

My answer is always the same.
"Because I think one day I'm going to build something amazing."

I'm not there yet.

But every app teaches me something new, and every mistake gets me one step closer.
Besides...it's pretty cool. 😊

Anyone else learning something that stretches you enough to make you question your sanity...and keep going anyway?

Happy Fourth of July!

Today is more than fireworks, cookouts, flags, and a long weekend.
On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted for independence. Two days later, on July 4, the Declaration of Independence was formally adopted, marking the birth of American independence.

What a reminder that freedom is not accidental. It is built through courage, conviction, sacrifice, and people willing to stand for something bigger than themselves.

As we celebrate, may we remember the history behind the holiday, honor those who have served and sacrificed, and remain grateful for the blessings of liberty.

The History of Memorial Day: Honoring American Heroes

Memorial Day, a cherished American tradition, traces its origins back to the turbulent days following the Civil War. Initially known as Decoration Day, it was a time set aside to honor the brave soldiers who perished in that devastating conflict. As the years went by and the United States found itself engaged in other wars, Memorial Day expanded its scope. Today, it serves as a poignant tribute to all American military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice, including those who fought in World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, the Korean War, and the more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

For decades, Memorial Day was observed on May 30th, a date selected by General John A. Logan in 1868 for the first Decoration Day. This date was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any specific battle, allowing the nation to honor all fallen soldiers collectively.

In 1968, a significant change came with the passage of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act by Congress. This act, aimed at providing federal employees with a series of three-day weekends, moved Memorial Day to the last Monday in May. This change went into effect in 1971, officially establishing Memorial Day as a federal holiday and giving Americans a consistent opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of their military heroes with a long weekend.

Friends, as we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let's take a moment to remember its origins and the solemn significance it holds. It is a day to honor the courageous men and women who laid down their lives for the freedom we enjoy today. Their bravery and sacrifice are the true spirit of Memorial Day, reminding us all of the high cost of freedom.

Earlier this year, I shared that I had launched Vision to Purpose Press, a publishing partner for authors ready to bring their message to life.

Today, I am excited to share a special milestone. Our first author, Dr. Samantha Perry, has officially been published.

Her new book, "Women Executives. Owning a Seat at the Table," is a leadership guide grounded in both practical experience and faith, encouraging women to step confidently into the roles they are called to lead.

What makes this even more meaningful is that Dr. Perry is a recent graduate of our very own Regent University School of Business doctoral program. You may have known her as Samantha Calmese.

Yesterday I shared why AI infrastructure matters more than most people realize. Today, I want to talk about the career impact.

When AI enters an organization, jobs do not disappear overnight. Expectations change first.

Access to AI tools and resources shapes who gets to learn early, who builds confidence, and who is ready when roles evolve. That is why initiatives focused on expanding AI access matter for careers, not just innovation.

This shift affects job seekers and hiring leaders alike.

For professionals, AI literacy is becoming less about technical skill and more about understanding how work is changing.

For employers, AI readiness is quickly becoming a talent strategy issue, not just a technology decision.

The people who adapt best are not chasing every new tool. They are learning how to think, decide, and lead alongside intelligent systems.

This is where career resilience is being built.

Everyone is talking about AI tools.
Almost no one is talking about the infrastructure that decides who actually gets access.

That gap matters more than most people realize.

This infographic highlights why America’s National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) is such a critical initiative.

The original challenge was simple but serious. Many researchers, educators, and institutions lack access to the compute, data, and AI tools needed to participate meaningfully in innovation.

The NAIRR pilot demonstrated what happens when that barrier is reduced.
More than 400 research teams were empowered through a public-private partnership model.

Now comes the next step. The NAIRR Operations Center.

This is not just a technical expansion. It is a coordination and governance move designed to scale AI access nationally, integrate resources, grow community, and support sustainable innovation.

Here is the part leaders should pay attention to.
AI leadership is not only about better models. It is about building systems that determine who can contribute, who can learn, and who gets left behind.

Infrastructure decisions shape workforce readiness.
They shape research pipelines.
They shape national competitiveness.

If we want responsible, secure, and inclusive AI adoption, this is where the conversation has to start.
