Tip of the Day:

In a quick pinch, you can use colored pencils as a tailor’s pencil (it will wash out in the washing machine.) You can also use sidewalk or blackboard chalk which brushes out more easily if you’re short on tailor’s chalk.

Lint, dust and fibers can build up causing parts to break, bend, or bind up. There is also a possibility of it soaking up the lubricants that can cause the machine to seize up. If you use your maching a lot the lubricants can wear out. Using your machine a lot can also wear out parts. By having it cleaned and maintained will help spot issues before they become problems.
We do offer a free reminder for yearly cleanings. If you would like a reminder please let us know. Summer is a great time to get your machine ready to go for Christmas projects.

Always turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise).
Never turn it backward (clockwise).
Why?
Turning it the wrong way can tangle thread, jam the machine, or knock the timing out of sync.
