If you run a shop downtown, the holiday order shows up weeks before anybody buys it, and the back room was already full. A small climate-controlled unit on Franklin Avenue holds the cases until the shelves have room, on one flat floor with carts by the door, so restocking is a quick trip instead of a project. Where does a market table live the other six days?

The Waco Downtown Farmers Market runs Saturdays, 9 to 1, over on Bridge Street. Canopies, folding tables, coolers, crates, signage. All of it has to sit somewhere from Sunday to Friday, and for a lot of vendors that somewhere is one end of a garage. We are on Franklin Avenue, climate controlled, flat floor, carts by the door. Roll it in Saturday afternoon and roll it back out the next Saturday morning.

Sorting a parent's house is not a one weekend job

Most families need somewhere to set the furniture and the paperwork while they decide what happens to it, and deciding takes months, not a Saturday. Downtown Storage is on Franklin Avenue in Waco. There is a covered canopy at our loading bay in downtown Waco, so a thunderstorm or an August afternoon does not get to decide when you move in. Pull underneath it, roll everything straight in on the flat, and nobody is hauling a box across an open lot in the weather.

Old buildings were not built with closets in mind. We are a couple blocks away on Franklin with climate controlled units on the ground floor, so the Christmas boxes and the kayak have somewhere to live that is not your hallway.
