“The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As a believer, you are called to fulfill the role God has placed on you.

At work, where you worship, where you live, where you interact with others, always do your best. Serve people, knowing that you play a vital role in their lives no matter how small or insignificant you think it is.

You are doing your part, while someone else is doing their part.

God does not call the qualified. He qualifies those He calls.

As you live out your day, look for ways to fulfill your purpose by serving others.

“All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭42‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The early church understood the importance of meeting together and serving one another.

In the same way, we, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, must avoid isolation & individualism and embrace community and service to others.

We need each other to walk life’s journey while encouraging one another and looking for ways to bless others through love and a commitment to service.

Think of others better than yourself?

Yes. Don’t promote yourself. Let God promote you. Put others first. Look to Jesus’ example we are to follow:

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭8‬

“For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Christian Freedom: Believers are freed from the burden of religious legalism and sin.

No Selfishness: Freedom is not an excuse to do whatever we want or act selfishly.

Love in Action: True freedom finds its purpose in serving and helping other people.

Have you found your purpose in serving other people? Look for opportunities today to serve others. When you serve others you honor your Heavenly Father.

“For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served by everyone, but to serve everyone, and to give his life as the ransom price for the salvation of many.”” Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭45‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Jesus taught that greatness comes through humility and helping people, by washing his disciples' feet and stating he came to serve.

True service moves our attention away from selfishness and toward the well-being of the people around us.

Today’s Prayer: “Help me Jesus to serve You by serving others.”

“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” James‬ ‭1‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

James 1:27 defines authentic faith through concrete action and personal holiness that shift the focus from empty ritual to active, compassionate living.*

Active, compassionate living.

““The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭40‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The phrase "the least of these" comes from Jesus in Matthew 25:40, where he teaches that serving vulnerable people is the same as serving Him.

Be actively compassionate to the ”least of these” who God has placed in your path. As you serve them, you are serving your Savior.
