Taking a little brain break from my B.E.S.T. midwifery book and back-office admin work, and leaning into something that feeds my soul instead.
I didn’t realize how much joy memoirs bring me until now and this one is GOOD, y’all!

A mama welcomed her sweet baby, and I wanted to express my appreciation for being welcomed into such a sacred space.
I brought my delicious nurture bites and a baby blanket stitched with love and prayer in every loop.

I love pouring my gentle touches into families to make sure they feel reassured, heard, and informed during this sacred season of life. I’ll be keeping my client load intentionally small and that feels just right to me. Because what matters most to me is not how many families I serve, but how deeply I’m able to serve each one.

2025 was the LAST year I will ever be called a student midwife. And the thought of it all is weighing heavy.

I NEVER experienced racism until I entered this midwifery pathway. I understand the meaning of SACRIFICE now. I wish someone told me what to expect when looking for COMMUNITY in these birthing streets.

These years broke me open.
I lost peace and parts of myself I’ll never get back.
There were nights I wanted to quit.
Days I felt stupid, small, invisible.
There was a constant feeling of being unwelcome.
Moments I hated this path with my everything in me.

And if you ask me if I’d do it all again?

HELL. NAW.

But I made it.
Not for applause.
Not to prove anything.
I stayed because too many student midwives carry this same story and too many leave, burned out and pushed out of a calling they were never meant to abandon.

That’s not weakness.
That’s a broken system.

The punitive preceptors are burning bridges.
The good preceptors are drowning.
Students are paying the price.

Schools want competent, confident, safe midwives on the other side of training, then incentives and compensation for preceptors are not optional, they are necessary.
Support prevents burnout.
Support protects students.
Support preserves this profession.

I didn’t survive this to stay quiet.
I survived it to make a difference.

Alright I am off my soapbox!
Happy New Year y’all!💫

This season has taught me what it means to slow my own steps. I have tripped over my own feet trying to hurry what was never meant to be forced, reaching for outcomes shaped by my own will.
And still, He held my hand.

Here I stand.
Here I reflect.
Here is me.
Because of his warm embrace .

Wading in before the shore is visible.
Trusting what is moving beneath the surface as building and preparation continues

Ruach Ezerah was chosen like breath rising from deep water. A name shaped by faith, meant for sacred work done with open hands.

I am drawn to the faith of Shiphrah and Puah, the women whose hands moved like water, so gentle, deliberate, and unwavering. They carried ambition, nurtured life where it was most vulnerable, and stood resilient when the current pressed against them.

This work follows that same current.
Hands blessed for holding.
A spirit shaped by nurture and resilience.
A love that does not rush the unfolding.

Behind the scenes, this vision is still forming. My business is growing the way water shapes stones slowly, intentionally, with purpose.

I look forward to entering the new year
of what has been prepared and what is a mystery.

Care with intention.
Support rooted in breath.
Sacred work, guided by faith.

For now, I remain in the water, listening, trusting, and allowing the work to rise.

Stay tuned!

I passed the NARM exam🙌🏾

Yes, the one that had me questioning my intelligence, my life choices, and whether physiologic jaundice was still… physiologic.

Because we like to end our year hitting goals. My husband became a CH-47 pilot. Thank you for standing by me with devotion and holding our family together in this hard season. We were stretched, tested, and still made sure we crossed the finish line together.

Deep gratitude to my parents for the constant love, helping out with the rascals, prayers, and unwavering support. None of this would have been a reality without you.

To my preceptor, your tough love gave me thicker skin and your way of thinking challenged me in the best way that sent me home eager to practice and reflect on my skills.

To my colleagues who carried me to the finish line especially the one who opened her home during my final clinical stretch this journey was lighter because of you.

To the families who trusted me, laughed with me, let me talk your ear off during prenatals, and showed me so much grace and love, thank you. Serving you in such a short time has meant more than you know, and I carry each of you with me always.

Next stop, Hawaiʻi 2026🌺
Licensure loading… which means I officially get to add some alphabet soup after my name.

Juggling many hats as a wife, mom, student midwife, sister, daughter, and friend! Every role is a part of my beautiful chaos, and I’m grateful for each one. Every role shapes who I am, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well maybe I want to tweak it a bit. 😅 Here’s to balancing love, learning, and laughter—one day at a time!
