The Nānākuli High and Intermediate School Songfest returned February 27 for its 35th year with 7th to 12th grade classes singing a ca****la in 'Ōlelo Hawai‘i. Congratulations to all the students, coaches, and class advisors who poured their hearts into the performances. In the end, of course, there was a winner. This year, the combined Class of 2026 and 2027 earned the coveted NHIS Songfest Perpetual Trophy, and award sponsored by PVT. Their performance of Lai‘eikawai, told the story of an ancient, magical courtship. The classes were coached by Shanna Nahulu and Analu Rabanes.
