A huge thank you to for once again showing up in a big way for our local community. The salon collected gifts for our local children in foster care. The gifts they collected will bring joy and hope to many children this holiday season. We are grateful for the way they continually make the world a more beautiful place through their generosity and desire to be a positive influence in the world around them.

Watch Me Rise was honored to have Trent Taylor deliver the keynote alongside at the .community "Building a Longer Table Banquet." The theme captured the heart of what many impacted by foster care and adoption need most, a wider and more welcoming space where their experiences are understood and valued.

A longer table reflects the kind of community God calls His people to build, one marked by belonging, compassion, and a willingness to make room for every story. Tamarisk continues to embody this in practical and meaningful ways, offering support, connection, and a place where people feel seen.
It was a privilege to be part of an evening that highlighted the importance of faith, community, and the steady work God is doing through Tamarisk.

Fifteen years ago, God began writing our family’s story in a way only He could.

November is National Adoption Month

This month carries deep meaning for our family as we celebrate fifteen years since God knit our family together through adoption. Adoption is more than a process; it is a reflection of the Gospel. It is redemption, restoration, and the beauty of being chosen and loved beyond measure. Through every joy and every challenge, God has shown us that His love makes families whole, and His faithfulness writes the most beautiful stories.

As we mark this milestone, we thank God for His perfect timing, His healing power, and the reminder that we are all adopted into His family through Christ.

Psalm 68:6: “God sets the lonely in families.”

Our Story

Trent Taylor: CEO/Co-Founder / Public Speaker / Assistant Consultant Trent experienced sexual abuse, neglect, and domestic violence during the first half of his childhood. He traveled a horrific journey through the foster care system until he was adopted at the age of 9. After healing from his traumatic past, Trent, who is now 19, has devoted his life to helping others overcome past trauma by providing hope. Trent willingly shares his inspiring story of triumph in order to provide hope and healing for others. This heroic young man has answered an early call to use his past experiences to positively impact others. Trent has mentored hundreds of children who have experienced trauma through the Mercy for America’s Children Kids Division he founded in 2013. Trent served on the Board of Directors for Mercy for America’s Children for four years. This young man has been featured on WRAL-TV and has appeared in over twenty newspaper and magazine articles, including one international publication. Trent is an accomplished public speaker and has shared his story openly many times to crowds of up to 2000. He has been recognized for his efforts through nominations for the World of Children’s Annual Award, Kohls Kids Awards, and the Casey Foundation award. He received the 2016 Hero Award, and was named the 2017 “Good Neighbor” for the Town of Wake Forest. Trent was named the Outstanding Youth Leader for a nationally recognized organization of foster youth. Most recently, Trent was selected as the White Oak Foundation Scholar and was named a member of Marquis Who’s Who in the World. This young man, who could have easily become another statistic, became a published author after co-authoring his autobiography about his time in foster care. Since that time, he has sold over 1000 copies of his book and donated the proceeds back to charity. In addition, he recently released his second book titled Battling the Invisible Enemy which was written for teens who have experienced trauma. Trent is also involved in foster care reform at the national level and hopes to positively impact the trajectory of the foster care system for the children and teens in care. Trent is pursuing his degree in clinical counseling and plans to become a trauma consultant, but has already studied trauma extensively through college coursework, outside trainings and the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Essentials course through the Christian Alliance for Orphans. He has also become very familiar with Trust-Based Relational Intervention principals through Empowered to Connect trainings, in addition to shadowing his mom who is a TBRI® Practitioner. At the age of nineteen, Trent has had a significant impact on the world around him. Each time he tells his story he is able to provide hope that true healing can occur. Trent ultimately aims to point all who are hurting to the true healing that can be found in God. Lastly, Trent serves as Co-Founder and CEO for Watch Me Rise, which is a ministry devoted to working on behalf of children who have experienced trauma like he once did. Pam Taylor: CEO/Co-Founder /Trauma Consultant/Training Specialist Pam has had the honor serving children and families for over 25 years in various capacities through her career that has been dedicated to working with children from hard places and their families. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Maryland, she served children with disabilities for 17 years. In 2009, Pam and her husband adopted two boys through the foster care system, and afterwards she quickly developed a passion to serve children who have experienced trauma. Pam sought extensive training and study relating to the impacts of early trauma and how to lead families to dramatic levels of healing. Pam has completed coursework from the International Trauma Training Institute, completed the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Essentials coursework through the Christian Alliance for Orphans, and became a trained Practitioner in Trust Based Relational Intervention (T.B.R.I®) under the guidance of Dr. David Cross at the Karen Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University in 2015. Pam has shared this life-changing set of skills with hundreds of families through the non-profit organization she founded named Mercy for America’s Children. Pam has been recognized for her efforts through a number of awards and recognitions including: Who’s Who Among Women in Business, 2013 Woman of the year by the National Association of Professional Women and she was named a Woman of Influence in 2015 by the International Women’s Leadership Association. Most recently she has been recognized as a member of Marquis Who’s Who in the World and has been awarded the Albert Neilson Lifetime Achievement Award. Pam considers it a true blessing and honor to travel the healing journey alongside children and families. Having the ideal combination of real-life experience as a foster and adoptive parent paired with professional training and guiding families to the healing found in God, she is able to lead families to dramatic levels of healing. Helping families find healing has become her primary focus as she and her adopted son launch a new faith-based ministry called Watch Me Rise. Are you ready to rise?
