A small failure in the mortar gave the yellowjackets an entry point, and the hollow space inside created the perfect protected area to build their nest.

Today's adventure: one BIG, angry bald-faced hornet nest.*😳

And naturally, it decided to build underneath a shooting bench instead of hanging nicely from a tree where you'd expect it. 😂

These guys are no joke. Bald-faced hornets are actually a type of wasp, and they can aggressively defend their nest when disturbed.
