A question we get asked frequently is what is the main reason for an applicant to get a deficiency letter. There are two main reasons we see over and over again. One, the wrong application is filled out. There are specific apps for each license and it’s important that you file the right one. The second, the experience is not correctly listed on the application. For example, a person applying for a General Contractor license must have one year experience working on a four story project. This has to be an inhabitable structure ( Dr Office, Hospital, Apartment Complex, Condo) from start to finish. Anyone who has questions about experience requirements can always reach out to us. Good afternoon. I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

I have composed a list of questions we are frequently asked. I hope that this will better help you to make a clear decision on whether or not you are ready to apply for your Contractors License. Make a checklist, and make sure that you have all the necessary requirements BEFORE you contact us. There are a few things that make us stand out to from other agencies. NUMBER ONE... experience.. I worked at DBPR for over 15 years. I reviewed and processed these applications. NUMBER TWO... accuracy. There have only been two or three apps we have submitted that did not get approved within 30 days with no deficiency letters. NUMBER THREE... the only thing you have to do is fill out our contact form, get your experience together, pass the exam.. we do the rest. Your app is not mailed, it is hand delivered and scanned in same day to DBPR.

The questions we are most frequently asked are...Do I have to take the state exam... the answer to that question is yes. Even in cases of reciprocity or endorsement, you may still have to take a portion of the exam.

Do I need experience.. Yes you do. Most apps require at least four years of experience.

What apps do you assist with... we assist with Contractors, Plumbers, Electrician. Pool and Spa, Specialty licenses.. basically all contractor license types.

Can i apply for a license with out of state experience. In most cases yes you can. Most out of state experience can be used as long as it is properly documented and verified.

Can you help me qualify a business... Yes we can.

Do I need to have a verifier... Yes. It is important for you to list a verifier, who has an active license. Hiring someone to verify your experience that you have never worked for is not recommended.

Can i work without a license... You probably can, but is it worth you risking a fine, or worse by not getting one?
