A well-known community leader in Monmouth and Ocean counties, former Brielle Police Chief Mike Palmer is a “people person” who has recently branched out into another area of service—home property management for those who are away or on vacation. pecially since he’s been a local homeowner for more than three decades who relishes the challenges of maintaining a home.
“I know what to look for when it comes to routine care and security, but I also have a lot of experience with emergencies,” says the man who helped develop Brielle’s emergency management plan while handling all of the borough’s crises for more than 30 years. As a longtime local resident, Chief Palmer also has a network of trusted local plumbers, electricians and other contractors to call on whenever the homes he watches over need special care. A former president of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association, he has been a fixture in many community and school fundraising programs, including Toys for Tots, Boys and Girls Club and numerous other charity events. He studied at the FBI National Academy, whose graduates represent the top 1% of senior law enforcement around the world, and he also was involved in creating the largest Active Shooter Exercise in Monmouth County, in conjunction with the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association, Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management.
