A letter from Abby of the Walla walla Immigration Coalition. Again, thank you to those that showed up. “I’ve been sitting with so much gratitude since the evening you created, and I just want to say—truly, from the bottom of my heart—thank you.
What you all put together was not just an event. It was something deeply human, tender, and powerful. The way you honored Mary’s late husband through his photography created a space that felt reflective, grounding, and full of love. To then choose to weave that moment into an act of solidarity with our community meant more than I can fully put into words.
In a time when so many in our immigrant community are navigating uncertainty and fear, gestures like yours remind us that we are not alone. That there are people and spaces in Walla Walla that are intentionally inclusive, that choose compassion, and that stand on the side of dignity and belonging. That matters more than you know.
Because of your generosity and the care you poured into the evening, we raised $800. Every single dollar will go directly toward supporting immigrant families—helping meet immediate needs.
Please know how much we appreciate not just this event, but who you are and what you represent. We are rooting for you, celebrating you, and are so grateful to be in community with people who lead with such heart and courage.”
