This year, we’re doing something a little different for our 13th Annual Halloween Family Fun Day. We’re “adopting” a local teacher!
We know how much teachers put into their classrooms, often out of their own pockets, and how much of an impact a teacher can have on their students. We want to support the local educators who inspire, empower, and help shape the future leaders of our community.
We’re looking for Wallingford teachers who could use a little extra support with classroom funding. All proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the teacher selected and can be used for classroom supplies, activities, special projects, or anything that helps create a better learning environment for their students.
If you’re a Wallingford teacher who could benefit from this, we’d love to hear from you!

A teacher will be selected at the end of September.
Please share this post with a Wallingford teacher who might be interested! ❤️
🎃 And don’t forget to join us for our 13th Annual Halloween Family Fun Day!

Final update: Nimbus has been trapped through the efforts of CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteer Carol and Middlefield Animal Control Officer Dave. (Pics in Comments). Big thank you to Lucas and his family that allowed us to put a trap up in his yard. So many area people were so helpful and called in sightings and helped us keep the area quiet. We set the trap up yesterday after learning he was returning to Lucas’s yard. Nimbus is new to CT and traveled through Meriden, Wallingford, and Middlefield area. He is 6 mo.s old and with some training will become a fantastic dog. He was exhausted when we approached him at the trap. We gave him some time to decompress with our presence there as we removed other equipment. He became so relaxed he was nodded off a few times. Such a sweet, exhausted boy. His owner is on his way and Nimbus begins his life journey. CTDGRV wishes Nimbus and his family a wonderful life together filled with love and adventure. We thank community member in Middlefield, Wallingford, and Meriden, along with the animal control officers from the communities who supported this rescue effort. Good reminders are for people who spot a lost dog to report the sighting to animal control and the lost dog family if it is known. We generally ask people not to post sighting because people going to an area can scare or chase a dog and push it out into another unknown area. When we are involved in a case we bring all necessary equipment into the area. When trapping we want the dog hungry so it will enter our trap. At this stage we prefer other people did not feed the dog. We thank all who were involved and helped us bring him home safely.

Missing in Meriden near the Wallingford line. He does look a bit like a coyote except he is wearing a collar and bandana, if he still has it on. He was DNA tested and he is 100 percent domestic dog Husky predominate/ German Shepard mix. He is skittish but friendly. The family is offering a REWARD. He is food motivated. Please do not chase him or call to get his attention. He will run. Instead call the number on the flyer and give the owner the exact location seen. He is young and may nip if you try to grab his collar. He may think you are trying to play a game. He does like food and a very calm approach where you just sit on the ground would work best. Owner is familiar with the calming signals technique and most familiar with the dog. Best to get him to the area. The owner will be prepared with a leash to attach to the collar. Please share and help being him home

UPDATE! Tiki is home. She found her way back to the house. Her family left the backyard gate slightly open and she came into the yard and they were able to shut the gate and lure her to them with chicken. Such a happy way to end the day. Welcome home sweet girl. Thank you to community members who kept an eye for her, Ferti, Wallingford water district, and Gabe who helped us search areas, Wallingford. Animal Control, and CTDGRV Carol who provided guidance and support to the family Such a wonderful group of people who made a difference for one little dog and family. Thank you ALL!

Missing in Wallingford. She is a very scared pup that is afraid of people. For the safety of the dog we ask that you not chase, call out, or follow her. To help, if you see her, call the numbers below with her exact location, direction of travel, and behavior at the time. Please do not post sightings we want to keep the area quiet and most likely will need to trap her. We want her to feel safe and not leave the area. She is not going to come to anyone and is very fast. Please keep a look out for her and share.
