The hole we sealed wasn’t the only problem. 😳

The homeowner was still getting rodents.

So I crawled into the crawlspace looking for the entry we had missed.

And there it was…

The little to no space between Dan Fransisco hokes makes this impossible to find from the outside.

The only clue?

An accumulation of rodent droppings leading straight to it.

🐀 They were basically leaving a trail.

Case closed.

Think you have fleas? 👀 Try this.
Stand where you suspect they’re coming from — around pets, wildlife, or shaded areas.

Then start walking. 👣

Your footsteps can trigger fleas to jump toward you.

And suddenly… they’re on your legs. 😳(Pro tip wear long white or lighter colored socks for contrast)

Indoors, your vacuum is one of your best weapons.

It removes fleas while the vibration can stimulate hidden pupae to emerge.

Vacuum often. Break the life cycle. 🔥

🐜 Ants never cease to amaze me with how they can squeeze into the smallest spaces!
I’ve always been fascinated by following their trails to see where they begin and where they end. On this particular inspection, the trail led straight into a crack underneath the back porch.

And there was the answer to why the client had been seeing so many ants inside.

Not every dryer vent is a rodent entry point—but when it is, there’s usually evidence. 🔎🐀
We don’t want to assume every vent is the source. Instead, we look for the signs.

In this case, a very clear rub mark provided evidence that rodents were repeatedly using the dryer vent as an entry point into the home.

Good inspections aren’t about guessing where rodents are getting in—they’re about finding the evidence and following it to the source.

One thing I’ve learned over the years dealing with mice: where there’s a lot of droppings, there’s usually a mouse hangout nearby. 🐭
When I find a heavy accumulation of droppings, I know I’m probably not far from the entry point.

And sure enough… this case was no different. 👀

The droppings led me straight to the spot — and what I found nearby confirmed it. 🔎🐭
