- Minor to Moderate Coastal Flooding (up to 1 ft of saltwater inundation in Coastal Colleton) this evening through Sunday morning
- 10-15 mph winds Saturday into Sunday (with 30 mph gusts possible). Off-shore winds will be a bit higher which will produce dangerous marine conditions (5 ft waves nearshore and 7 ft waves offshore). Moderate to High risk of rip currents throughout the weekend.
- 1.5" to 2" of rainfall Saturday into Sunday with locally higher amounts possible
- Brief, rapidly developing and fast moving tornadoes and/or waterspouts are possible.

Fire Prevention Month is underway! During the month of October, Colleton County Fire-Rescue will see every Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade student in Colleton County. With the assistance of “Patches” the Fire Dog, Fire-Rescue teaches basic fire safety rules like Don’t Hide, Go Outside; Don’t Touch Matches or Lighters; NEVER go back inside a burning home. Third graders get to review what they’ve learned over the last four years in the fire safety house. They learn about kitchen fire safety (turn pot handles in, don’t leave the stove unattended) and then they get to practice escaping a bedroom with simulated smoke and a smoke alarm activating. Each child is given a bag with a coloring book, crayons, and fire safety reminders in addition to their own fire helmet. Given that Colleton County has suffered a number of fire fatalities this year, we are excited to educate Colleton’s children to keep them safe.
