DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!!

The notion of Gretch and I doing Themed Cabaret Styled Shows was an idea that was dreamed up on a napkin on our kitchen table a long time ago! One of the themes we created was AMERICA'S BANSTAND - a musical tribute to the culture of the 1950's and the birth of Rock&Roll!

Wednesday, May 27th we have a sold-out show to perform in our very own theater! Somebody pinch me!

FULL CIRCLE with COFFEE and MUSIC!!!

Sometime during the fall of 2004, just shortly after Gretch and I met, we performed our very first music together. Gretch was invited, along with her sister Wendy, to provide an acoustic set of music for the opening of a coffee shop in the area. I offered to tag along and play guitar and add whatever vocal harmony might work, as the two sisters weaved their magic!

Fast forward to this weekend, (05/24/26) and 22 years later… Gretch and I are taking a little trip to Herrin, Illinois to perform at Guardian Grounds! Our sweet friend’s, Jen and Tim Klaman, have created a wonderful new business – so much more than great coffee! This place is a haven for imagination, conversation and rejuvenation of the soul and spirit! We are coming full circle with this “coffee table concert” and celebrating our friends' dreams and visions becoming a reality with 3 hours of music for anyone who wants to listen!

MAKING MUSIC TOGETHER

I did my first recording project with a group of friends when I was about 12 years old. Our brilliant and innovative music teacher/director graciously gave an entire side of the choir LP to our 5-piece band, comprised of junior high-school students. We arranged and performed popular songs entirely on our own and it was an amazing experience and sounded pretty good!

The music industry has changed dramatically over the 54 years that I have been making recordings. Vinyl records, gave way to cassette tapes and 8-tracks tapes had a brief lifespan, followed by CDs and oddly enough, kinda’ full-circle back to Vinyl again! But now almost everyone is streaming music on one digital platform or another. The days of physical recorded products have all but gone by the wayside, at least until the next BIG thing comes around.

Gretch and I have recorded hundreds of songs that friends of our music may never have heard, other than our live performances. We have spent countless hours in the studio over the years, on our recorded material and look for ways to share these songs. We have posted a music player with a collection of our recordings on our website for everyone to listen to, and we plan to share more!

STILL THE ONE!

I have been told that she started singing before she could talk, and added the lyrics later! I would not be surprised if that were all true.

I’ve never known a more versatile or natural vocalist than my lovely wife. She has been by my side for hundreds of hours in the recording studio and on countless stages, together for more than 20 years, and she still amazes me! There are talented female artists all over the world, but none with more genuine expression and feeling in their voice. When she sings, I believe every word!

Standing next to her and blending our voices is one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. I have always loved recording and performing music, but singing with Gretch has evolved into a passion.

She married me 19 years ago today and there really are no words to express how profoundly she has changed music and my life into a celebration. I love you, Gretch!
