🇺🇸 **81 Years Ago Today – D-Day** 🇺🇸

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant military operations in history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom helped turn the tide of World War II and changed the course of history.

Today, VFW Post 6605 honors the heroes of D-Day and remembers the countless service members who risked—and gave—their lives in defense of liberty. Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free and that the price of peace is often paid by the courage of ordinary people called to do extraordinary things.

As we reflect on this historic day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the members of the Greatest Generation and all those who have served our nation.

**We will never forget their sacrifice. We will always honor their service.**

🇺🇸 *"These were the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These were the men who took the cliffs. These were the champions who helped free a continent."* 🇺🇸

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to VFW Post 6605 for Steak Night last night!

Because of your support, we sold an incredible **90 steaks** and enjoyed an evening filled with great food, great company, and plenty of fun. After dinner, the karaoke kicked off and the energy in the room was amazing—there were lots of laughs, great performances, and memories made throughout the night.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to our incredible volunteers. From planning and setup, to cooking steaks, serving guests, tending the bar, running karaoke, and cleaning up at the end of the night, none of this would be possible without your dedication and hard work. While most people only see the event itself, there are countless hours of effort behind the scenes that make nights like this a success.

Events like these are successful because of all of you—our members, guests, volunteers, and supporters. Thank you for making Post 6605 such a special place and for helping us continue to serve veterans and our community.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event. Until then, thank you for another fantastic Steak Night!

Today, we joined our community at Magnolia Park to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to remember those who gave everything so that we may continue to enjoy the freedoms we hold dear.

VFW Post 6605 is proud to stand alongside our fellow veterans, local leaders, and community members in remembrance and gratitude. May we never forget the cost of freedom and the heroes who paid it.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

A folded flag may weigh only ounces, but for the families who receive it, it carries a lifetime of love, sacrifice, honor, and loss.

Today, we remember our fallen heroes not just for how they died, but for how they lived — with courage, duty, and devotion to something greater than themselves.

Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who never made it home. 🇺🇸

What an incredible showing of service from our community!

On 21 May, our VFW Post hosted a successful Day of Service blood drive, and we’re proud to share that we had **15 generous donors step up** to give the gift of life. Those donations have the potential to impact **up to 45 lives** in our region.

This is what service looks like beyond the uniform—neighbors helping neighbors, and a community coming together when it matters most. We are grateful to everyone who donated, supported, and helped make the day a success.

We’re proud to continue carrying out the mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) through events like this at VFW Post 6605—serving not just veterans, but the entire community.

Thank you again to all who made a difference on 21 May. Together, we serve.
