It’s election season.

When asked if he thought it was fair for Catholics to impose their views about abortion onto others, Dr. Bernard Nathanson (co-founder of NARAL and provider of over 75,000 abortions before switching sides and converting to Catholicism) had this to say:

“Every election is an imposition of beliefs on others. For example, Mario Cuomo was Governor of New York State... Every year, the legislature, which was the will of the people, would send him a bill which said, “We want capital punishment in this state” (here Nathanson explains that he does NOT endorse capital punishment). And every year, Cuomo would impose his beliefs by vetoing it. He didn’t believe in capital punishment. Well that’s the imposition of personal belief! Yet somehow the press and the media conveniently ignored that. Well OF COURSE we have to impose morality. If we don’t, who will? Morality is not something which just floats around and sticks to you. Somebody has got to annunciate it. Somebody has got to clarify it. And somebody has got to explain it.”
