Ed is COMMITTED to his craft and his animals. He comes to our chapter every single week excited about the community and always thinking of new ways to give back.

I want you to meet a special young man named Landon.

From the moment my truck hit the driveway, he was the first one there to greet me. His excitement was impossible to miss and as the day unfolded, it became clear as to why. This was one of those programs that carried a little more weight.

His parents later shared that Landon has loved animals his entire life. After meeting me earlier this year, he told them he wanted to do what I do when he grows up—keep animals, work with reptiles, and share them with others.

And then there’s Talon. 🦎

Landon had met him once before and hadn’t stopped talking about him. So when Talon came out at his birthday, getting that close to an animal he already admired became a moment his family says he’ll never forget.

His mom told me something that really stuck with me: while they’ve always encouraged his love for animals, Komara Outdoors has now “catapulted” their entire family into a new world of reptiles—even helping her begin facing her own fear of snakes.

She ended by saying maybe one day Landon really will have that snake or bearded dragon…and become “The Next Komara.”

That’s heavy.

Because sometimes I show up thinking I’m there to make a kid’s birthday special, only to leave reminded that someone is watching, dreaming, and being inspired by what I get to do.

If you’ve never been to an educational show with Ed Komara, you are missing out!! He was so much fun, brought his reptiles, amphibians, turtle petting zoo, and all the know-how and know-what about these guys. He’s what nature+nurture stands for- making learning fun, in community, and caring about people while he does it. He has a big heart and a lot of passion. He’ll be in McCulloch Park beside 553 E State from 10-3 for the nature+nurture maker’s market. 🐢 Komara Outdoors
