According to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, about 1 in 4 Michigan homes is expected to have radon levels above the federal action level of 4.0 pCi/L. Radon is colorless, odorless, and tasteless — which means the only way to know if your home has elevated levels is to test.
If elevated radon is found, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends installing a radon mitigation system to help vent radon safely outside the home. Michigan does not license or regulate radon mitigation contractors, so it is important to hire a qualified, experienced company that understands proper system installation and long-term safety.
At Onyx Environmental, we’ve been installing radon mitigation systems since 2018, helping Michigan homeowners reduce risk and create safer indoor environments.
