đŸ”„ Have you ever crawled around in an attic in June? I highly do not recommend it! đŸ„”
This week's project had me sweating it out in an attic after the homeowner had a new roof installed. With the new ridge vent system in place, the old gable vents were no longer doing their job, so I sealed them off and installed new soffit vents to restore proper attic airflow.
It's not the most glamorous job, but proper ventilation helps your attic breathe, improves energy efficiency, and can even extend the life of your roof.
Attics in the summer definitely aren't my favorite place to be... but sometimes you've just gotta get it done! đŸ’Ș

This deck was trying its best to become part of the yard đŸŒ±. Rotten boards and wobbly rails don’t stand a chance around here!
✅ Replaced rotten deck boards
✅ Installed new rails and balusters
✅ Added years of life back to this deck
❌ Nobody fell through during the repair (always a bonus 😂)

Sometimes you decide it’s time for a new mailbox



and sometimes you accidentally run the old one over and make that decision a little faster 😂

My client was getting ready to close on his property when he had one of those “oops” moments and suddenly needed a mailbox fixed fast. Good thing I had the tools, materials, and a little know-how to get it taken care of quickly.

New post set, new mailbox installed, problem solved, closing back on track 👍

Sometimes it’s the things homeowners don’t notice that turn into the biggest headaches.

While I was working on another project at this home, I noticed the garage door just wasn’t operating the way it should. After taking a closer look, I found the opener had actually pulled the door support off and was starting to cause bigger structural issues.

That’s the kind of problem that doesn’t fix itself—it only gets worse (and more expensive) the longer it’s ignored.

So I reinforced the door in all the right places, secured everything back properly, and now it’s running smooth again like it should. 👍

A lot of times one repair uncovers another issue that’s been quietly waiting to fail. That’s why it pays to have someone who pays attention.

This one was a special project for me.

Not only did we get to give this kitchen a much-needed facelift with brand new marble-look countertops and an updated faucet
 I got to have my son right there beside me helping get the job done.

There’s just something different about a father-son work day—teaching him how to use his hands, how to solve problems, and how to not be afraid of getting a little dirty (and spiders! đŸ•·) to build something better. That part means just as much to me as the finished project.

And the finished result? Huge upgrade.
The old outdated tops are gone, the new marble look brightened up the whole kitchen, and the client absolutely loves the transformation.

Nothing beats honest work, dirty hands, and passing useful skills down to the next generation. đŸ’Ș

This old window A/C unit had officially reached the end of the road
 and to make matters worse, it sat right at headache level every time this homeowner stepped onto the deck 😅

Not only was it an eyesore, it wasn’t working anymore either. So I gave this space a complete upgrade.

✔ Removed the dead unit
✔ Walled in the opening
✔ Installed a dry erase board inside
✔ Cleaned up the exterior
✔ Installed an outdoor TV mount so she can move her TV outside and enjoy football games on the deck this fall 🍂🏈

Now instead of staring at an old broken A/C unit, she has a clean wall, more usable space, and the perfect outdoor entertainment setup.

That’s the kind of custom fix I love—solving a problem and making the space more enjoyable and functional.

Even the Fix It Dude has a to-do list sometimes 😄

These old porch lights had seen better days—and every windy night they’d end up crooked and rattling. Not exactly the look I was going for.

So I swapped them out for some new fixtures, and honestly
 what a difference. Clean, sturdy, and they actually stay put.

 that’s me 😅
You’re probably wondering how I got myself into this situation.

Turns out years of wear and tear on these hands and arms—from military service, hard work, and fixing just about everything under the sun—finally caught up with me, and now it’s my turn to get a little fixing done.

I’ll be down for a few weeks while I recover, but this isn’t The Fix It Dude signing off—just hitting pause long enough to get back to 100%.

The good news: I am still scheduling jobs for when I’m cleared and back at it. So if you’ve got projects piling up around the house, now is actually the perfect time to get on my calendar before spots fill up.

I appreciate all the support, prayers, and patience while I heal up. I’ll be back doing what I do best before long. đŸ’Ș
