Mt.High Fire & Rescue We are a Volunteer Fire Department, located off Skyline Drive in Warrior, serving Blount County. We meet Tuesday nights at 7pm and welcome all help.

Our HERO DAY celebration at West Blount Corn Maze just keeps growing, and we’re excited to announce THREE MORE additions to our special day!

💙 WELCOME, BLUE WATCH FOUNDATION! 💙

We’re excited to have Blue Watch joining us!

Blue Watch is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting law enforcement officers and their families through professional, emotional, and spiritual resources.

Their mission says it all: “Watching over those who watch over us.”

What a meaningful organization to have represented as we celebrate our community heroes!

🇺🇸 SPECIAL GUEST — STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAVID STANDRIDGE!

We’re pleased to announce that Alabama State Representative David Standridge plans to stop by!

Representative Standridge serves District 34 and has a background in law enforcement, including service with the Blount County Sheriff’s Department.

⚖️ SPECIAL GUEST — JUDGE GREG REID!

We’re also pleased to welcome Judge Greg Reid, Presiding Circuit Judge for Blount County’s 41st Judicial Circuit!

We look forward to having these community representatives join us as we recognize the people who serve our area.

🚒 JUST $5 ADMISSION FOR OUR HEROES!

Firefighters • Law Enforcement • EMS & First Responders • Active Military & Veterans • Healthcare Workers

Valid ID or proof of service required. Special admission applies to qualifying heroes.

This Fire Prevention Week (October 4–10), Mt. High Volunteer Fire & Rescue is reminding everyone in our community that simple habits at home can prevent dangerous fires!

With smartphones, tablets, power tools, and e-bikes in almost every household, lithium-ion battery safety is more important than ever. Follow these quick superhero safety rules to protect your home and family:

🔌 Use Original or Certified Chargers: Only use chargers and cables approved by the manufacturer or listed by an accredited safety lab.

🛋️ Charge on Hard, Flat Surfaces: Never charge devices on beds, couches, or under pillows. Soft surfaces trap heat, which can cause batteries to overheat.

⏱️ Don't Overcharge: Unplug devices once fully charged, and avoid leaving them plugged in overnight while sleeping.

🚲 Keep Heavy Charging Away from Exit Ways: Charge e-bikes, scooters, and large power tools outdoors or in a well-ventilated area—never blocking your home’s emergency exits.

⚠️ Know the Warning Signs: If a battery gets unusually hot, swells, smells, or makes popping noises, stop using it immediately!

Today, the members of Mt. High Fire and Rescue stand with communities across the nation to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the incredible bravery of the first responders—including the 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and 55 military personnel—who ran toward danger without hesitation and made the ultimate sacrifice to save others. Their selflessness, courage, and dedication define the true spirit of service.

Please join us in taking a moment today to reflect, remember, and uphold our promise: We Will Never Forget.
